Ricky Ponting Targeted by Thieves While Family in Home

Thieves break into Ricky Ponting’s home.
Ricky Ponting’s family home in Melbourne was recently targeted by thieves last week. The thieves were able to break in and steal his car. At the time of the robbery, reports confirm that he was with his wife and three children inside the home.
After the robbery, the car was spotted by witnesses as it was driven dangerously away.
The former captain of Australian cricket team had finished his coaching and commentary commitments before the break. He was said to be enjoying his vacation with his family in his bayside home in Melbourne when the incident happened.
According to reports from 7 News, the thieves were able to gain entrance into the highly secured property before stealing the car from the driveway where it was packed. As at the time of writing this news, the search for the stolen car continues and it is yet to be found. The police have deployed a Special Operations Group as well as Airwing to continue the intensive search for the stolen car and find its whereabouts.
The last sighting of the stolen car was when it was driven dangerously off the property in Melbourne. A group of men were seen in the car and reports state that the two men who were seen escaping from the home have not been caught yet. However, the police are optimistic about making a break in the case very soon.
Ricky Pointing has had a busy year with commentary commitments with Australian tour by the Indian cricket team and the Big Bash League. He was also part of the commentary panel at Channel 7 when India recorded a historic win against Australia in the test series, breaching their defence in the final test in Gabba.
Pointing retired back in 2012 after what many consider to be an illustrious career. During his playing days, he broke many batting and captaincy records. He played 17 T20Is, 168 Tests, and 375 ODIs and scored over 27,000 runs while hitting as many as 71 hundred.
After retirement, Ricky Pointing has continued to associate himself with the game through coaching and commentary stints both in Australia and outside. He coached the Delhi Capitals in India and led the side to the final of the Indian Premier League in the 2020 final held in UAE.
