Oscar Winner Rami Malek Embraces Darkness In Serial Killer Thriller

Rami Malek stars in The Little Things.
Rami Malek has grown to be one of the best actors in Hollywood after his fantastic performance in Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned him an Oscars. He is an extremely busy man with lots of projects that are working on, but one of the most recent ones he worked on was recently released. The Movie titled the Little Things is his first feature film since Bohemian Rhapsody, and it is one that boasts of an A-list cast. The movie also has fellow Oscars winner Jared Leto and Denzel Washington.
In the film, Malek plays the role of Jimmy Baxter, a brilliant detective with a pretty straight and principled life. According to Malek, he was excited by chance to act alongside Denzel Washington, who plays Joe Deacon, the older and jaded Detective who shares a lot of similarities with Baxter in his own youth.
The actor said he was also fascinated by the psychology that drives real detectives. The movie was directed by John Lee Hancock who had made provisions for two professional detectives who served as consultants on the set of the film. Malek interacted with them enough and got to explore his character, discovering the similarities between being an actor and a detective.
According to Malek, he was fascinated by how all-consuming and immersive the detective work can be that some detectives get so sucked into their job that they cannot separate it from their actual life and they cannot compartmentalise the two. Malek realised that actors have similar experiences to as he has had in various roles, he has played including the role of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, which to him was the most immersive.
Malek referred to detective myopia saying many actors also experience similar things where they invest in their characters, immerse themselves in the world. According to him, while the Pacific, which was shot in Australia, the period was a very intense one for him. However, he remembers having a good time in Australia, nonetheless with the generosity of Australians and the unique experiences like diving in the Great Barrier Reef.
Before the Little Things, Malek has acted as the main villain in No Time To Die, but COVID-19 forced the movie release to be postponed to October 2021.
One of the reasons for joining the cast of The Little Things for Rami Malek was the presence of Denzel Washington, who was the first person the Director got to feature in the movie. With his presence, all that was left was finding actors who could match up to the brilliance of this legendary actor and Rami Malek was not going to miss the chance of seeing the master at work. According to him, he spent a lot of time on set even when it wasn’t his scenes just to watch Denzel.
